Wienerberger India’s manufacturing unit is situated at Kunigal, 70 kms West of Bangalore in the Tumakuru district of Karnataka.

The Clay Brick manufacturing factory has easy access to the National Highway 48 connecting Bangalore and Mangalore. It is well connected with major cities like Chennai, Hyderabad and Mumbai

This is the first ever manufacturing plant in Asia commissioned by Wienerberger AG and is a state-of-the-art, environment friendly plant that manufactures Porotherm Smart bricks. Porotherm Smart Bricks are highly engineered green building material manufactured deploying European technology, characterized by a product design which has over 55% void ratio. This makes Porotherm bricks ideal for Indian climatic conditions. 

It also makes the product very efficient and sustainable both in terms of raw materials consumption and product performance.

• The clay bricks manufacturing factory started its operations in the year 2009 
• Spread across 32 acres of land in the KIADB industrial area, it is the largest hi-tech automated clay brick manufacturing plant in Asia
• The raw material, Clay, which is used for manufacturing of Porotherm clay bricks are sourced from the desilting of the tanks in the vicinity,
• The plant has a distinction of operating 24/7, 365 days a year while the production is carried out in three shifts
• The clay bricks manufacturing factory is equipped with a high level of automation 
• 95% of the electric and thermal energy utilized for the plant operations is sourced from renewable sources such as solar and wind
• This one of a kind production unit also houses a state of the art laboratory and testing facility
• Wienerberger is the first large scale brick kiln in India to adopt natural gas for brick kiln firing process. The switchover which was commissioned in 2020 has led to reduction in carbon emission and particulate matter
